Our Story
How Elevated Healing was founded to solve a critical problem in mental health and addiction treatment: the artificial separation of interconnected conditions.
Dr. Kourosh Moradi and Dr. Nicole Fallah founded Elevated Healing to solve a specific problem they observed repeatedly in the San Fernando Valley mental health landscape: the compartmentalization of mental health and addiction treatment.
Most people struggling with depression and substance use encounter a broken system. A psychiatrist treats the depression. An addiction clinic treats the substance use. These providers rarely communicate. Treatment plans may conflict.
Patients spend years bouncing between systems. They get worse, not better. They feel like failures because treatment "doesn't work." The truth is, compartmentalized treatment was never designed to address what's actually happening: two interconnected conditions feeding each other.
Seeing this pattern repeat endlessly was unacceptable to Drs. Moradi and Fallah. They recognized something crucial: integrated dual-diagnosis care wasn't a luxury—it was a medical necessity.
The Clinical Insight
When mental health and substance use are treated simultaneously by specialists trained in both, outcomes improve dramatically.
But this wasn't available locally. No practice in the San Fernando Valley was doing true integration. Most were either addiction-focused clinics that didn't understand psychiatric medicine, or psychiatry practices that dismissed addiction as "just a symptom" without specialized addiction expertise.
The gap between what evidence showed was possible and what was actually available was massive. Someone needed to build it.
Why They Built Elevated Healing
Dr. Kourosh Moradi's Vision
As healthcare entrepreneur, Dr. Moradi understood healthcare systems and what it takes to build something different. He believed that integration was possible, and that it could become standard care—not exception.
His mission: Prove that integrated dual-diagnosis care produces better outcomes. Make it standard. Change the system from inside out.
Dr. Nicole Fallah's Leadership
With operational expertise from Cedars-Sinai, HCA Healthcare, and UCLA, Dr. Fallah understood that clinical excellence requires operational excellence. You can't deliver integrated care from siloed systems.
Her mission: Build organization where integration is possible operationally and clinically. Create systems that support both patient care and staff wellbeing.
Building the Team
With vision clear, Drs. Moradi and Fallah built a team that shared their commitment to integration. They recruited:
Psychiatric Leadership
Dr. Warren Taff—40+ years of psychiatric experience, commitment to evidence-based care, belief that compartmentalization fails patients
Clinical Leadership
Dr. Sebastian Vasilescu—decade of dual-diagnosis experience, commitment to trauma-informed care, vision of therapy addressing whole person
Operational Excellence
Alexis Prado and team—commitment to patient-centered care, belief that systems should serve people, not people serving systems
Each team member shares core belief: integration works. Compartmentalization fails. When psychiatry and addiction medicine collaborate, when therapists understand both conditions, when care is genuinely personalized, people recover.
